This episode moves through a wide landscape of ideas — from Christianity and Gnosticism to Naturalism and Buddhism — to confront what we really mean when we talk about God. I explain why I still believe God exists while wrestling with the problem of revelation, miracles, and the limits of anthropomorphism when we call God “He,” “She,” or “It.” Ultimately, the search leads me back to the metaphysical spaciousness of the Dao in Daoism and the One in Neoplatonism as more flexible ways of approaching the divine.

Dr. Jay Forrest is a spiritually independent philosopher who teaches Bodhidaoism, drawing from Daoism, Buddhism, Neoplatonism, and Process Philosophy. He writes on truth, mind, ethics, mindfulness, and the return to the Dao.
